The CBSE is a national education board with over 24,000 schools in India and approximately 240 schools in 26 foreign countries affiliated to it.. There are 1,248 Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), 26,054 Government/Aided schools, 16,741 independent schools, 661 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and 71 Central Tibetan schools as on August 2021. CBSE conducts board exams for 10th and 12th classes in February/March every year. In 2021-22, CBSE is conducting boards twice a year due to pandemic caused by coronavirus.
The Board conducts examinations for regular as well as private students. Candidates who wish to pursue schooling in a distance mode can apply for admissions and sit for exams. CBSE offers various subjects to its students after class 10th in Science, Commerce and Humanities stream. After completing class 12th, students can apply for admission to various colleges/universities to pursue higher education.
Some of the popular national level entrance tests conducted by CBSE are Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST), Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), etc
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB or GSEB) is a Government of Gujarat body responsible for determining the policy-related, administrative, cognitive, and intellectual direction the state’s secondary and higher secondary educational system takes.
The main responsibilities of the Board include academics, conducting examinations and research and development. The board is responsible for registration and administration of higher secondary and secondary schools in the state of Gujarat.
